Wuhan University Topped the Ranking of National Higher Education Lecturing Competition Status Data

(Correspondent Fang Xiangyu) On February 22nd, the China Higher Education Society officially released the “2012-2018 National Higher Education Lecturing Competition Status Data” in Hangzhou. Wuhan University ranked first with 97 awards and 100 points.

The status data covers 39 teacher competitions held in 2012-2018, including 36 undergraduate college programs, three higher vocational projects, and more than 900 undergraduate colleges with a total of 19,060 data. The competition includes the National Teaching Competition among the College Young Teachers, the National Quality Competency Competition among the College Counselors, the National Teaching Competition among the College Young GIS Teachers, the National Competition among the Young College Teachers of Surveying and Mapping Specialty, and the National Competition among the College Young Teachers of Basic Medicine.

National Higher Education Lecturing Competition is an important way for colleges and universities to cultivate teachers' teaching ability and improve their teaching level. It is an important means to adhere to "foundation orientation" and promote "four regressions". Since 2015, we have focused our work on classroom teaching and adopted various measures to “combined education with competition and promote education in competition” in the Development Center for our University Teachers. It mainly includes: formulating the “Admission System of Undergraduate Courses for the New Teachers”; adopting the "three-stage" training method to quickly strengthen the teaching skills of young teachers;lettingall young teachers under the age of 40 participate in the biennial "Young Teachers Competition"; establishing a teaching development support system for teachers; and regularly holding excellent teachers' teaching experience exchange meetings and modern educational technology training courses; setting up "Teachers' Teaching Development Special Program"; giving priority to fund new teachers, new courses and classroom education technology practice projects; realizing personalized and diversified teaching and consulting services, promoting teachers to actively improve their teaching quality; constantly pushing forward the development of college teacher's sub-center construction for realizing the purpose of sharing teaching resources in high-quality colleges with all the other colleges; carrying out psychological counseling and consulting activities for the teacher.

It is reported that the Chinese Higher Education Institute will continue to publish the status data of the National Higher Education Lecturing Competition in the future and will launch the research work of the national higher education teachers' teaching development index.
