According to the relevant documents issued by Ministry of Education and the practical situation of Wuhan University, Wuhan University has decided to continue to recruit high school graduates from Taiwan according to their results of General Scholastic Ability Tests in College Entrance Examination and performance in interview.
I. Requirements for Application
High school graduates in Taiwan who have achieved "Good" or above level in the General Scholastic Ability Test may apply for admission to Wuhan University.
II. Methods of Application
Eligible high school graduates in Taiwan may visit the website for undergraduate enrollment of Wuhan University (www.aoff.whu.edu.cn) to apply for admission online. The following materials are required for online application:
(I) 2015 Admission Application Form of Wuhan University for High School Graduates in Taiwan;
(II) Recommendation Letter;
(III) Result Notice for General Scholastic Ability Tests in College Entrance Examination issued by College Entrance Examination Center;
(IV) Recently-taken colored bareheaded electronic photo for registration use and recently-taken colored full-length electronic photo, one for each;
The above materials should be provided in electronic form or scanned copy according to the requirements for online application. Written application materials will be printed by the university after confirmation with the student. Deadline for application: May 18, 2015.
III. Examination
The university will examine the qualification of students according to the materials for application provided. The list of candidate students who have passed the qualification examination will be released on the website for undergraduate enrollment of Wuhan University before May 21, 2015. Candidate students shall come to Wuhan University for interview at the end of May with Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents. The specific time and address for interview are subject to further notice.
IV. Selection of Major
Candidate students may choose 4 majors as intentions from the enrollment major list published by the university. For list of enrollment majors see the appendix.
V. Admission
The university will have experts to interview the candidate students and to select excellent applicants to make the admission list. After the admission list is approved by the Examination Center of Ministry of Education of PRC and the Office of PRC for Joint Enrollment of Overseas Chinese Students and Students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan by General Institutions of Higher Education (hereinafter referred to as "Joint Enrollment Office"), the Joint Enrollment Office will conduct the admission procedures for the students. The university will send Letter of Admission to each student.
VI. Registration and Body Check
1. Admitted students should come to the university for registration with the Letter of Admission in the time for registration specified in the Letter of Admission. Students who cannot come to the university within the specified time should apply to the university for approval. Students who fail to register within the prescribed time and do not apply to the university for a delay will be denied admission to the university.
2. The university will verify the admission qualification of fresh students. Students who do not meet the requirements for enrollment of Taiwan students without examination and who are deceitful will be denied admission to the university.
3. The university will arrange for body check for fresh students. Students whose physical conditions do not meet the requirements for enrollment will be denied admission to the university; Students who are generally qualified but do not meet the limiting conditions of a certain major may change for another major through consultation.
VII. Tuition and Fees
Admitted students should pay the tuition and fees equivalent to those charged for mainland students of the same major when registering.
VIII. Miscellaneous
(I) Taiwan students will share dormitories with mainland students of the same major and shall pay the same boarding fee.
(II) Students will be managed according to the relevant regulations of Ministry of Education and Wuhan University. Students may leave mainland for visits in summer and winter vacation.
(III) A credit system and a flexible educational system will be applied for the study of Taiwan students. According to the Interim Regulations for Recruitment and Training of Students from Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Macao Special Administrative Region and Taiwan Province by General Institutions of Higher Education, Taiwan students are exempted from military training and courses of political theory. Students are allowed to graduate after they have completed required courses and gained required credits. Eligible students will be awarded bachelor's degree by Wuhan University.
(IV) In principle, Taiwan students should return to their original place of residence after graduation.
(V) When registering, Taiwan students shall present Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents, which shall have a period of validity consistent with the period of study.
(VI) In case the Ministry of Education makes any change on relevant regulations in 2015, the new regulations shall prevail.
IX. Supervision Mechanism
