Vice President Zhou Yezhong, and some teaching and administrative staff members and students of the College of Undergraduate students, the Communist Youth League Committee, the School of Arts, and School of Journalism attended the opening ceremony.

The activities began with the poem recitation of "Middle Age" and "Chibi Fu". Undergraduate students Sun Yuchen and Wu Minhao received applause for their loud and passionate recitations. The live calligraphy brought by Pan Tong and Chen Huan of the Calligraphy and Painting Association pushed the activity to a climax.

At the same time, the audience's response was also very enthusiastic, a parent said with deep feeling: "Today, mobile phones are becoming more and more popular, many children are addicted to mobile phones and computers, They can't speak Mandarin well, and often write the wrong words, we must strengthen the training and education of language and writing in the future." Other parents believed that promoting mandarin is a patriotic way to educate the Chinese people at the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China."

The on-site activities include oral response, selection, polyphonic characters, tongue twisters, famous passage reading and other links. From children wearing red scarves to the old people, besides the students of our school, the activities also attracted many citizens: On the side of the tent, a cleaning aunt smiled after passing the test, while on the other side, an old teacher laughed at himself for reading the wrong basic pronunciation. He told the staff that he had not considered the standard of Mandarin before and said that he would practice writing and reading more in the future, hoping that similar activities would be more.

The theme of the Promotion Week is "Celebrating the 70th Birthday in Mandarin and writing patriotism in standard characters", which aims to improve the level of Mandarin of students, faculty and surrounding citizens of Wuhan University. Since the 22nd Mandarin Promotion Event was held, it has been widely recognized and affirmed both inside and outside the school. Zhou Yezhong, vice president and director of the school language committee, said that language is the carrier of culture, and language ability is the concrete embodiment of cultural quality. We must normalize the promotion of mandarin and carry out the mandarin test so as to make greater progress in the school's language work.

The activity  is expected to last for five days and will end on September 20.
