Our college invites teachers who have textbooks on their mobile phones to convert textbook pictures into scanned electronic version and share them with other teachers through APP, so as to solve the problem of public mathematics textbooks.

Most teachers are front-line medical staff, and the whole department has been involved in the battle against the epidemic. I'm afraid that we have no time to prepare the course for the time being, but the hospital leaders and we will discuss ways together ,  try our best to overcome difficulties, and ensure the quality of the courses that can be opened!

This is the first time that such a large-scale online teaching has been carried out in China.Due to lack of experience, we have encountered many problems and difficulties, but we will conduct testing- feedback-improvement and try our best to solve the problems step by step.

These questions and words about the online teaching during the postponement of university are the heated exchanges and discussions among the undergraduate teaching management cadres in the QQ group in the past week.

 According to the unified arrangement of the State and Hubei Provincial Education Department for the teaching work in colleges and universities during the epidemic prevention and control period,  The Leading Group for the Prevention and Control of the New Coronavirus Epidemic in the Undergraduate College promptly studied and deployed in advance the relevant work plans for undergraduate education such as teaching management, enrollment examination and daily routines during the epidemic period.  On January 31, the "Implementation Measures for Undergraduate Teaching During the delayed opening of the Second Semester of the 2019-2020 University Year" was released, stipulating that all undergraduates will be taught online from February 17, 2020 to the official start of semester (specific time to be determined).

 

Immediately, the College of Undergraduates launched the organization and arrangement of online teaching, encouraging teachers and students to prepare for the beginning of the university, making full use of the Internet for teacher-student connection, and properly conducting online learning and online guidance. In order to ensure the smooth development of the online teaching of the whole university's undergraduate courses on February 17, the staff of the undergraduate college, the vice-presidents and teaching management personnel of all the departments in charge of the undergraduate teaching work are working enthusiastically during the postponement of the opening period, discussing day and night all kinds of problems that the online teaching may face  at all times. The teaching management personnel of each college (department) have a detailed understanding of the preparation of the teaching courses, make plans for the courses that cannot be started on time due to the epidemic situation, and at the same time convey the constructive opinions and suggestions from the teachers on the development of online teaching.  Adhering to the spirit of meticulous implementation and overcoming difficulties together, in order to ensure the teaching progress and quality during the epidemic prevention and control period, and to realize the "suspension of classes and continuous teaching, suspension of classes and continuous learning", all the teaching management cadres in the university have made great efforts to work together.

 

 

Without slacking off, the School of Undergraduates actively deployed various undergraduate talent training during the epidemic prevention and control period.

 

In order to do a good job in the undergraduate personnel training work during the epidemic prevention and control period, the undergraduate college deployed various work.

First, strengthen the arrangement of academic guidance and make preparations for the beginning of the school year. To issue "Guidance on Teaching Work Before the Second Semester of 2019-2020 Academic Year" to all relevant departments of the university, and actively organize all departments of the university to make good use of the time before openning, and carry out study and research according to local conditions.

The second is to adjust the examination plan in time and do a good job in special types enrollment. In order to ensure the health and life safety of the examinees, In a timely manner, the testing work of high-level art troupes in 2020 was adjusted. Cultural foundation tests and special art level tests were no longer organized. The art level of examinees was reasonably evaluated according to the video materials provided by examinees, and the Notice of Wuhan University on Adjusting Matters Related to the Testing of High-level Art Troupes in 2020 was published.

The third is to make full use of internet to promote teacher non-stop teaching”.In view of the current Covid-19 epidemic situation, we should not only ensure the health and safety of all teachers and students, but also try our best to maintain the normal operation of undergraduate teaching order in Wuhan University. On the basis of in-depth research with the university information center, we put forward the "Implementation Measures for Undergraduate Teaching during the Postponement of the Second Semester of 2019-2020 Academic Year" . It is planned to use network resources and technical means to establish a virtual network in a one-to-one correspondence with physical classrooms. In the classroom, teachers carry out online teaching to all undergraduates, so that "teachers keep teaching".

 

 

The fourth is to explore the use of electronic teaching materials to promote "students to keep learning". The undergraduate college, together with the university library, has sorted out the resources and usage methods of e-books materials, and formulated the "Resources and Usage Methods of E-books in Wuhan University Library" for reference,  and guiding students to effectively use  electronic teaching materials.

 

The fifth is to optimize the online teaching platform, improve the construction of virtual classrooms and the quality of online teaching. Relying on high-quality online teaching resources such as “ icourses.com" website, moocs China and luojia online platform of wuhan university, and using various online platforms such as Xuexi Tong, Tencent classroom, Tencent conference, rain classroom, QQ group and WeChat group, the communication between teaching and learning is carried out in a diversified way. For the online teaching platform, actively communicate with cloud service providers, formulate "Supplementary Notes on Improving the Construction of Virtual Classroom", and make efforts to enhance its functionality and convenience.

 

The sixth is to formulate a network teaching inspection plan to enhance the quality of network teaching. Formulate the "Wuhan University's 2020 Spring Semester Teaching Inspection Work Plan", relying on the supervision team, the teaching management cadres of the undergraduate college and the entire undergraduate teaching units to carry out online teaching inspection and standardize the online teaching order.

 

 Seventh, the two basic general courses "Classical Guidance of Humanities and Social Sciences" and "Classical Guidance of Natural Science" have formulated the "Implementation Plan for Basic General Education Teaching during the Postponement of the Second Semester of 2019-2020 Academic Year" in combination with the curriculum situation and the spirit of university documents.  In order to enrich the construction of the course resource database, two introductory courses have been recorded MOOC in 2019 and launched on the “iCourse" and Luojia online platforms. During the postponement of the semester, the course team will make full use of existing MOOC resources to carry out online teaching on the Luojia online platform. The guidance course will be divided into MOOC teaching, teacher-student interaction, after-class tests and other links.  The guiding course has always adopted the teaching mode of "large class teaching and small class discussion", with high student participation and outstanding teaching effect. Based on the particularity of small class , in order to ensure the quality of classroom teaching, the course group adjusted the teaching arrangement of guiding class to 1-8 weeks of large class teaching and 9-16 weeks of small class discussion. At present, all the guidance courses have completed the construction of QQ group, and VIP teaching assistants have been selected to participate in the preparatory work.

 

Eighth, The Teaching Development Center of Wuhan University has sorted out domestic high-quality resources for free lesson preparation and online teaching ability, to help teachers solve technical problems, improve the application of information technology and online curriculum design and application, and help teachers ensure the distance teaching quality and students' learning effect .

All faculties (departments) in the university fully responded to the call of the Ministry of Education to "suspend classes and non-stop learning”. While reminding teachers and students to do a good job in self-protection, they respectively formulated and implemented the undergraduate teaching plans of the faculties (departments) according to the notification requirements of the university. On February 6, they actively conducted online teaching simulation and testing.

 

Zou Jingui, vice-president of the Surveying and Mapping Institute in charge of undergraduate teaching, while sticking in Wuhan, he has been thinking about the effect and specific operation of online teaching. In order to test the teaching effect of the online platform, He downloaded the auxiliary software such as Xuexi Tong, Tencent Conference and Micro Teaching Assistant very early, and let the teachers and teaching management personnel around him be his teaching objects. After testing the operation effect together and groping out the operation experience, he specially made the user manual and video, shared it with the teachers and students around him to learn and use, and actively prepared for online teaching. When students express concerns about class in the group, Dean Zou often answers patiently, so that students can rest assured that the university will not affect the students’ academic performance and give students a reassurance. The university sends virtual classroom network links to teachers to download and get familiar with them in advance, and creates a teaching group, notifies teachers one by one and confirms whether they are qualified for the class, coordinates the course group and arranges substitute teachers timely according to the special circumstances, and tries to prepare well for the online teaching in the first week of the semester.

In order to better serve the students when the online class starts, on the evening of February 6, five teachers from the Institute of Electronic Information, under the guidance of Teacher Zhang Wei from the Undergraduate College, conducted on-site classroom simulation and functional test on the online teaching platform of Superstar Learning platform.  Teacher Zou Lian, as the keynote teacher of "Signal and System", uploaded PPT and other materials of "Signal and System" course, and teachers such as Chen Xiaoqiao, Xin Xu, Zhou Liqing and Sui Zhucui, as students, conducted a comprehensive test on the network platform.The test content includes the APP download, registration and login of the network platform, the uploading of teaching plan, PPT and video resources, the PPT demonstration and whiteboard function demonstration in the course teaching, and the detailed test of the system's roll call function, discussion interaction function and live broadcast function.  During the test, several teachers played the role of students, considering various situations and needs of actual teaching, put forward questions and solve problems, and made sufficient preparations for the actual class next week.
