In the face of the aggressive COVID-19 epidemic in Hubei province, from the closure of the city to the postponement of the university , although the teachers of Hongyi cannot fight in the front line against the epidemic, but they have fully developed the school's "Hongyi" spirit and have been active in the educational administration group of Wuhan University since the fifth day of the lunar year. In order to ensure that the university "suspends classes and continue teaching, suspends classes and keep learning", they actively participate in the discussion of all kinds of online teaching work, pay close attention and convey every detail of the university's teaching work on time, coordinate and serve the teaching teachers and students well, and ensure the smooth progress of online teaching.
Hongyi School currently has 1128 students, covering 5 disciplines, 15 majors and no full-time teachers. There are 295 classes in the four grades this semester, involving 20 colleges in the whole university. Facing a large number of online courses with multiple majors, the teachers planned their work in advance, and actively contact all the colleges that start the courses, effectively organized and ensured the smooth progress of undergraduate teaching during the postponement of the semester.
First, build communication bridges to ensure the smooth development of online teaching.
At the beginning of the preparation for online teaching, Hongyi School has built multi-dimensional communication bridges with undergraduate colleges, opening colleges, teachers, students, supervisors and even parents of students to convey the temperature of education with meticulous and efficient services.
In order to ensure the smooth development of online teaching, our teachers overcame the difficulty of being in a different place. The 238 online classes in the first week are divided into grades, single and double weeks, and weekly schedules are sorted out in an all-round and multi-dimensional way, so as to facilitate teachers to carry out online patrol work, and send them to the student group for repeated reminders before the class starts, organize students to enter the classroom group, implement each course, and ensure that each student can start online school on time.
At 7: 30 on February 17, all teachers of Hongyi School were on duty online to fully escort the quality of online classroom teaching. Teachers separately log on Luojia online platform, iCourse platform, Tencent conference, DingTalk, DouYu , QQ group, WeChat group and other online platforms to test and check problems. In the afternoon, on the one hand, the teachers collected the students' satisfaction and existing problems in class, on the other hand, they sort out the teachers' feedback after class, put forward improvement measures, and timely feed back the online teaching tour to the supervision teachers, so as to ensure the students' class experience to the greatest extent, change to offline and suspend classes without stopping learning.
Since the undergraduate school released the course selection plan for the second phase of this semester, the teachers of the HongYi collected information about each student's course by-election, re-election, withdrawal, and postponement through online documents. Due to the diversity of students' major directions, HongYi school focuses on personalized and small-class cultivation programs, which requires teachers to be patient and meticulous in handling each curriculum adjustment requirement. Within one week, 1105 curriculum adjustments of students were manually met.
The review of the College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program originally scheduled for the first week of school was postponed due to the epidemic situation and changed to online review. There are 48 major projects involving 12 disciplines, and many of them are interdisciplinary, which greatly increases the difficulty of evaluation. The teachers continue to work during the epidemic period, after studied the background of each application project, they divided into 5 groups and organized 13 experts in relevant subjects to conduct online reviews, thus ensuring the orderly progress of the reviews.
Third, do a good job in performance analysis, To promote the work of graduates.
Based on university goals, HongYi school pays attention to students’ personalized training programs, allowing students to change major, allowing courses to be exempted, and basically implementing the one-student one-course learning plan. At the same time, major enrollment and secondary selection are carried out in parallel, which greatly increases the complexity of graduation examination and requires the teachers to check each student's graduation plan one by one.
A good teaching operation is inseparable from the serious responsibility and silent contribution of teachers in management positions, there is no hesitation or slack when facing the epidemic, only their perseverance. The spring will always come in the end. May the epidemic leave as soon as possible and we will reunion at Luojia again.
