In light of promoting the cultural quality education of college students, enriching campus cultural activities and combining the practical conditions of Wuhan University, the university has decided to continue recruiting art students nationwide.

I. Enrollment Plan

Wuhan University plans to recruit students in western musical instruments, Chinese traditional musical instruments, dancing and vocal, 72 in total (see appendix for enrollment plan and requirements).

II. Requirements for Application

1. Senior high school students who are qualified applicants for 2015 National Higher Education Entrance Examination and of good character as well as sound mental and physical health.

2. Students who have participated into the admission test for 2015 Peking University Art Winter Camp for National Senior High School Students (hereinafter referred to as PKU Winter Camp) and obtained outstanding results.

3. If the programs of Wuhan University are not included in PKU Winter Camp, students shall participate in the 2015 Tsinghua University Art Students Examination and obtain outstanding results.

4. If the enrollment office of the applicant province (or autonomous regions or municipalities directly under the central government) has issued relevant rules and organized qualification examinations for art students, students are required to participate in such examinations and obtained relevant qualifications.

III. Methods of Application

Students are required to visit the website of Undergraduate Enrollment Service System of Wuhan University and apply for enrollment (click here for application) prior to 16:00, March 20, 2015 and send (deliver) application materials to the Enrollment Office of Wuhan University (Address: No. 299, Bayi Road, Wuchang District, Wuhan, Hubei Province, Post code: 430072) prior to 12:00, March 25, 2015 (subject to the postmark of receipt date). The application materials shall include:

1. Application Form of 2015 Wuhan University Art Student (autograph of student and stamp of his or her school);

2. Copy of results certification of 2015 Peking University/Tsinghua University Art Student Specialty Examination (or print screen of performance results inquiry website);

3. Certifications for participating into orchestra activities, performances, and contests in recent three years;

4. One colorful photograph, which must show the whole-body of bareheaded applicant in standing position and be taken recently.

All application materials shall be printed on A4 paper and stamped by the school which applicants attend and bounded together in order (standard A4 left binding, Application Form as the cover page followed by materials 1 to 4, no additional cover is allowed). All application materials will not be returned. The application will be void if applicants fail to complete application procedures, or application materials are not compliant with requirements or not delivered in time.

IV. Methods of Admission

1. The admission of 2015 art students of Wuhan University will be based on applicants’ results of PKU Winter Camp test; for programs not covered in PKU Winter Camp, admission will be based on applicants’ results of Tsinghua University Art Student Specialty Examination.

2. The University will select 2015 art candidate students (hereinafter referred to as candidate students) from applicants according to their scores in PKU/THU examination in the same program. The list of candidate students will be posted on the website of Undergraduate Enrollment Service System of Wuhan University.

3. Candidate students will fall into two categories, type A and type B. The University will determine the number of selected candidate students of two categories according to student resources. The general knowledge tests scores (excluding scores added according to policy) of type A candidate students are required to reach the minimum admission score for Tier-1 universities (hereinafter referred to as Tier-1 university admission score) issued by Wuhan University in the student province (or autonomous regions or municipalities). The general knowledge tests scores (excluding scores added according to policy) of type B candidate students are required to be no less than 20 marks below adjusted admission score of the same program of Wuhan University in the student province (For provinces where the full mark of Higher Education Entrance Examination is not 750, the preferential scores enjoyed by type B candidate students shall be converted as per the ratio of the full mark of the province and 750, rounded into integers). If the adjusted admission scores in candidate student provinces have not been released, the estimated score of 100% admission released by Wuhan University in candidate student provinces shall prevail.

4. After public notice to which there is no objection, the University will submit the list of candidate students to the enrollment offices of student provinces and Ministry of Education for approval according to relevant stipulations issued by the Ministry of Education. Those approved will be the pre-enrolled art students of Wuhan University (hereinafter referred to as pre-enrolled students). The candidacy of those failing to pass the review of provincial enrollment office or failing to pass public notice will be cancelled automatically. The vacancy will not be filled up. 

5. Pre-enrolled students shall print out the Agreement of Wuhan University Pre-enrolled Art Students in 2015 from the Undergraduate Enrollment Service System of Wuhan University with signatures of students themselves and their parents, and deliver the agreement to Culture & Arts Office of Youth League Committee of Wuhan University (Address: No.299, Bayi Road, Wuchang District, Wuhan, Hubei Province; Post code: 430072).

6. This brochure is subject to changes in 2015 art student enrollment policies issued by Ministry of Education.

7. Pre-enrolled students shall make Wuhan University their choice during reporting intention according to the rules issued by enrollment establishments in student province.

V. Admission Feedback

Pre-enrolled students shall visit the Undergraduate Enrollment Service System of Wuhan University during the period from 9:00 on June 25, 2015 to 12:00 June 30, 2015, and fill in their achievements in National Higher Education Entrance Examination and choices for major. Pre-enrolled students can fill in up to 6 intended majors that are in same academic branch and available in 2015 Wuhan University enrollment plan in student provinces. Pre-enrolled students who fail to fill in abovementioned information as required will be regarded as giving up admission. Those who fill in false information will be denied admission.

VI. Notes

1. Enrollment Office of Wuhan University will be responsible for recruiting and admitting 2015 art students, Culture & Arts Office of Youth League Committee for providing inquiry services. The University will assign persons to provide counsel services during PKU/THU Examination.

2. A review on admitted art students will be conducted by Culture & Arts Office of Youth League Committee prior to registration.

3. Admitted art students shall participate into the training and performance of College Students Art Troupe and answer to its authority as required by the University. Otherwise, Interim Regulations for Academic Status Entry Management of Wuhan University Art Students (WDJZ [2005]20) shall apply.

4. Art students shall also meet the requirements of enrollment office of student province.

5. Once a student is found to have committed frauds or other dishonest conducts, the student will be denied exam results, admission and registration according to relevant rules of the state and the University. For those who have obtained academic status, their academic statuses will be denied. The names of denied students will be reported to the enrollment examination office of student province. Vacancy will not be filled up.

VII. Supervising Mechanism
