THE ONLINE COURSE “EIGHTEEN MARTIAL ARTS” TAUGHT BY TEACHERS OF ELECTRONIC INFORMATION COLLEGE

Teachers in the Institute of Electronic Information must first sharpen their tools if they want to do a good job in the online course . In order to improve the effect of online classroom teaching, the teachers of the Institute of Electronic Information have done all they can to effectively organize the course content, carry out teaching interaction, and stimulate the students' enthusiasm and interest in learning.  Let's take a look at their teaching "artifacts" and "eighteen martial arts".

Teacher Zheng Lin: desktop + notebook computer +2 mobile phones + drawing template + hand drawing paper

 

Zheng Lin: "Engineering Drawing and CAD" course has a large amount of graphics, so it is difficult to learn projection geometry for beginners. In order to effectively cultivate students' spatial imagination and thinking ability and improve teaching effect, a five-in-one teaching method is adopted.  Use a desktop computer to explain the main teaching contents, collect and sort out good topics on laptop as examples, and switch shared screen between the two computers at any time. Use the selfie stick to set up a mobile phone to pay attention to the students' attendance at class, and grasp the problems in class in time through the chat function. Another mobile phone pays attention to the QQ course group in its spare time and answers the questions encountered by students at any time. In addition, draw the common problems found in the students' study and clip them on the desktop computer,  then use the laptop camera  to share on the screen, so that the students can easily understand the problem solving step-by-step .

Teacher Shan Xin :  Laptop + small white board, PPT teaching and "Class Exercise"

 

 

Shan Xin: Fully excavate and utilize various class modes of Tencent class. Use PPT as the main mode to display the knowledge points of the course efficiently and clearly. Using the camera mode, have the children's small whiteboard at home to explain and write on the blackboard while deducing, face-to-face communication with students to improve communication efficiency. Inspire and guide key knowledge points by asking questions, the students will provide timely feedback in the discussion area, which can well stimulate students’ enthusiasm for discussion and learning. At the same time, the teachers can grasp the students' learning situation in real time and make timely adjustments in a targeted manner. Use screen sharing or audio and video before and between classes to broadcast Wuhan real-time news, anti-epidemic videos, and popular science videos related to the course,  such as UAV laser remote sensing, strong magnetic field application, satellite communication, etc.

On the one hand, it allows students to know the real-time situation near the school; On the other hand, I will further discuss the relationship between relevant technologies and electromagnetic theory with students in the discussion area for popular science videos, so as to stimulate students' enthusiasm for learning this course. Teacher Li Li: Look at the layout of Tencent's classroom screen in a picture

 

Li Li: You can complete PPT presentations, speak in the discussion area, play videos, share screens and other operations in the main interface of Tencent Classroom, realize functions such as sign-in, answer sheet, picture-in-picture, and raise hands, and monitor the network status at any time; members can be realized on the main screen List export, headset control, system sound sharing, etc.  The discussion area is always online and communicates with students at any time. The text communication is properly operated, which is more efficient, visible to all and has better interaction effect than raising hands. If students master the function of sending pictures skillfully, they can quickly submit pictures of homework and exercise results for comments. The Membership tab displays the number of people online in real time. Open the Speaker View in PPT, adjust the main interface appropriately, and leave the next slide prompt and comments of the Speaker View to help teachers organize the teaching content. The camera view can be opened as required and the position of the small window can be moved. According to needs, windows required by EDA software, browsers and other teaching processes can be displayed, or documents can be opened to record students' performance in real time. Teacher  Xu Xin: Portable Computer + Mobile Phone + Headset + AI Small Home (Demonstration and Timing)

 

 

 

Xu Xin: Tencent is generally used in class to start teaching, As shown in the upper right figure, the student-side teaching interface displays PPT + teacher image + chat area synchronously, making full use of Tencent's classroom chat area, answer card and other functions to interact with students. During the teaching process, teacher image is displayed to supplement the monotony and boredom brought by simple PPT image + audio form, and the content can be explained through expressions and gestures. The teaching adheres to the teaching idea of Project-BasedLearning, combining demo in class, small exercises after class and Projects to promote students to learn by doing.

When students are required to show their work and results, Tencent conference platform is selected to allow students to share the screen and show their work, including demonstrating PPT and even running programs. Yin Fan: Through the webcam provided by laptop and the high-definition function of the camera, the switching between teaching and blackboard writing can be well realized, and the interaction between teachers and students can be enhanced. (Course: Algorithms and Data Structures)

Teacher Yin Fan (Equipment 2): ThinkPad Tablet + Stylus + Whiteboard Software

 

Yin Fan : Combined with the current social reality, through Tencent meeting and tablet computer handwriting function, the students' personal experience is linked with the professional knowledge of the course, trying to use the core theory of the course to understand many hot spots of the current new coronavirus epidemic, and guiding students' learning enthusiasm and interest with interdisciplinary concepts. Teacher Yan Yuchen Yan:  tablet PC + A Simple Method of Real-time Blackboard Writing on Board

 

Yan Yuchen: When there is no stylus pen, you can turn on the rear camera, set up a board behind the screen, spread white paper on the board, share the whole screen during teaching, switch to the camera interface when you need to display the blackboard, and write directly on the paper by bypassing the computer screen, thus achieving the effect of instant blackboard writing. Teacher Ru Guobao: Laptop + Mobile Phone + Hand Drawing Paper

 

Ru Guobao: Although isolated outside, my heart is still tied with teaching; To avoid the  interruption, the classes are held in the corridor. During holidays  stranded outside for visiting, now all family members get back and work at home, so often have to stage a "war" for the laptop . They can only use the evening time to draw pictures and prepare lessons on the dining table.  Uses the computer platform to teach on Tencent conference platform, hand-drawn drawings to take photos and embed PPT, and mobile phones to hang QQ  groups to answer students' doubts at any time. Teacher Lu Xin: Laptop+ Pad + High-definition Camera + magnetic whiteboard

 

 

 

Lu Xin: The computer logs into Tencent's classroom teacher's side and plays PPT, Pad logs into the student's side and QQ group, monitors the online classroom and checks the classroom exercises submitted by the students of the course group at the same time, the high-definition camera is used for blackboard writing presentations in class (because the resolution can be set, so it will be more smoother than video), and the magnetic whiteboard is used for answering and discussing questions after class. Teacher Jin Weizheng: Notebook Computer + Pad + Mobile Phone

 

Jin Weizheng : The computer full-screen ppt teaching , the Pad is used to monitor the teaching effect, whether the network is normal and the students exchange information. Teacher Luo Yijun:  Laptop + Mobile Phone + Whiteboard

 

Luo Yijun: Mobile Phone Enters Tencent Conference with Another Account, Turn on Video, Mobile Phone Mute and Volume Turn off; The computer turns on the sound and can share the screen. Play PPT  when the computer screen is shared, and writing on the blackboard  when the sharing is turned off, which is very convenient to switch. (Course: Communication Electronic Circuit)

 

         Teachers said that compared with the traditional classroom teaching, online teaching has changed the regular teaching and the usual face-to-face communication between teachers and students. However, this is also a good opportunity for us to experience online education together. Teachers also take this opportunity to make full use of various platforms and equipments to carry out various modes of student-centered and participatory interactive teaching. This is not only a change in teachers' teaching mode, but also a change in students' learning mode , it is a  good opportunity for mutual growth .

 

 

             The students said, In the process of online learning, College teachers are trying their best to improve the efficiency of our online learning. From time to time in class, several questions are raised to guide the students to actively discuss , so that students like me who are too shy to participate in classroom discussions can attend in classroom interaction. The classroom atmosphere is more active than offline teaching, and the efficiency of listening to lectures is even higher than the actual classroom. Such kind of online teaching is a different kind of experience, allowing teachers and students to realize ideological collision and emotional closeness even thousands of miles away .  Live webcasting has turned us who studied in “LuoJia" into studying at home, but this will not hinder the students' enthusiasm and concentration.

        We believe that knowledge, spirit and love will not be isolated by the virus. Let's wait together for the end of the epidemic and look forward to seamless connection with normal teaching activities.  As one classmate said, “Under the war of epidemic , those who share the same heart are all heroes, no matter where you located, let’s wait together for the world to be full of fragrant flowers !"
