COURSE DESCRIPTION

Nursing Research is a seminar class designed for the discussion of research methodology. Applications of Research in nursing practice and education are analyzed. Class activities and assignments familiarize the student with the research process.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

The student will begin to develop the ability to: 

1) Utilize research terminology.

2) Describe the research process.

3) Critique research studies.

4) Identify research results appropriate for nursing practice and nursing education.

5) Demonstrate an understanding of the research process

6) Formulate a research proposal


COURSE SETTING

Nursing research course will be divided into nursing research Ⅰ(1 credit), nursing research Ⅱ(1 credit), nursing research Ⅲ (1 credit), to be arranged in the 5th, 6th and 7th semester.

Problem identification and assists in distinguishing between the problem statement and purpose of the study.

Teaching Methods

All the teaching content will teaching in English through PPTs, Class debates, Group Report, Class research activities, Role play, Peer evaluation, Watching English video

Course Evaluation

Nursing ResearchⅠ(18 teaching hours):Class participation , tests,group report, complete the introduction, literature review, and research framework parts

Nursing Research Ⅱ:Class participation Final exam、Peer evaluation、complete research methods , research  design and research ethic parts

Nursing Ⅲ: Class participation, research proposal,group report and tests

Teaching Outcome

Nursing research is a compulsory and theoretical course for undergraduate students.

Through collective lesson preparation and discussing with foreign experts about the teaching content and teaching methods improve undergraduates’ interests in nursing research and make the class lively. At the end of this course, the students should know about nursing research, complete the course objectives, improve students’ critical thinking, evidence thinking and research competence.
